Shock wave therapy is a modern, non-invasive treatment method for pain relief and tissue regeneration. It is used in particular for tendon irritation, muscle tension, calcifications or chronic pain syndromes. In our practice, we offer both radial and focused shockwave therapy — depending on the symptoms and treatment goal.
The radial shock wave has a wide-ranging effect and is particularly suitable for superficial structures such as tendons, muscles or fasciae. The pressure waves radiate from the treatment device into the tissue and stimulate the metabolism and blood circulation — ideal for treating tennis elbow, heel spurs, Achilles tendon irritation or myofascial trigger points.

The focused shock wave penetrates deeper layers of tissue in a targeted and precise manner and is particularly suitable for chronic inflammation, calcified structures or deep-seated pain points. The focused energy can be directed precisely to the affected area, achieving a more intensive biological effect — for example in the case of calcified shoulders, pseudarthrosis or deep-seated tendon insertions.
Shockwave therapy is used successfully for the following conditions:
The respective type of application is adapted to the clinical picture and the damaged structure. In both cases, the applicator is placed on the skin using a contact gel and the shock waves are triggered.
The treatment lasts between 4–8 Minutes in total and can be perceived as unpleasant or painful depending on the location. radiale Stoßwellentherapie wird im Abstand von 10–14 Tagen 3–5 Mal wiederholt.
Whether radial or focused — the choice of shock wave form depends on your individual findings. In a personal consultation, we will explain which method is best suited to your symptoms.
