Hyaluronic acid therapy and Hyalmax

Hyaluronic acid therapy and Hyalmax — effective support for stressed joints

In our practice, we offer tried-and-tested hyaluronic acid therapy, which relieves pain, improves mobility and supports natural joint function. Intensified Hyalmax therapy is also available for patients with more severe joint wear or an increased need for treatment. Hyalmax is an intensified, highly concentrated form of hyaluronic acid therapy with a prolonged effect.

Especially for athletes or patients with advanced joint wear, Hyalmax enables a more targeted and lasting treatment of pain and restricted movement.

What is joint wear and tear and how can hyaluronic acid therapy help?

Joint wear and tear, also known as osteoarthritis, refers to inflammatory and degenerative changes to joints and tendons that can cause pain and restricted movement. These complaints often lead to restricted activity and therefore significantly impair quality of life. Consequential problems such as weight gain, high blood pressure or social withdrawal are not uncommon.

Early and targeted treatment is therefore particularly important in order to maintain quality of life and slow down the natural ageing process.

The combination of hyaluronic acid therapy (or Hyalmax), physiotherapy and, if necessary, medication can help to significantly improve symptoms and prevent further deterioration.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous protein that occurs naturally in various tissues, including joint cartilage. It ensures lubrication, shock absorption and nutrient supply in the joints and is therefore crucial for their health and mobility.

Injections of hyaluronic acid are an established treatment option for cartilage diseases and incipient osteoarthritis, helping to improve joint function and significantly reduce pain. This reduces the need for painkillers and improves quality of life. In addition, the treatment delays the progression of joint degeneration by stimulating the body’s own hyaluronic acid production, among other things. In addition to joints, hyaluronic acid can also be used to treat complaints in tendons and ligaments.

We also offer Hyalmax therapy for patients with advanced joint degeneration or an increased need for therapy.

This intensified form of hyaluronic acid treatment uses highly concentrated and long-lasting hyaluronic acid to promote joint protection and regeneration in an even more targeted manner.

How does the treatment work?

After local anesthesia of the skin using cold or a local anesthetic, the hyaluronic acid is injected, depending on the joint/tendon also ultrasound-supported. The hyaluronic acid is then distributed throughout the joint using gentle movements if necessary. The joint can usually be loaded normally on the same day.

This injection is repeated a total of 5 times at intervals of approx. one week in order to achieve the greatest possible saturation of the joint.

Injection therapy with hyaluronic acid should always be accompanied by physiotherapeutic measures and self-exercises to mechanically relieve the joint. Optionally, a splint to relieve the joint can lead to improvement.
